Jonathan Fanton is a Panel member.

Jonathan F. Fanton is president of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, which is dedicated to helping groups and individuals foster lasting improvement in the human condition.  The Foundation encourages the development of knowledge, nurtures individual creativity, helps strengthen institutions, helps improve public policy, and provides information to the public. Mr. Fanton was previously president of New School University, where he led the integration and enhancement of the seven divisions of the university and expansion of the Greenwich Village campus. Mr. Fanton is a board member of Human Rights Watch; an advising trustee of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Historical Society; and the founding board chair of Security Council Report. He is also the author of The University and Civil Society, Volumes I and II, and he received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Yale University.
