Merrill Gappmayer is the chairman of the board of Intermountain Health Care, a Salt Lake City, Utah-based health system that includes hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and other facilities. Mr. Gappmayer has also held several leadership positions at the American Hospital Association, including a term as chairman of the AHA Committee on Governance in 1994 and service on the Regional Policy Board, Strategic Planning Committee and AHA Task Forces. He received Modern Healthcare magazine’s National Trustee of the Year Award in 1996 and was recognized with the AHA National Trustee Award in 2005. Mr. Gappmayer is also the president and CEO of Vista Enterprises, a property development and management company.
