Eugene R. Tempel is a member of the Self-Regulation Advisory Group and also serves on the Expert Advisory Group. 

Eugene R. Tempel is executive director of the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University and professor of philanthropic studies, public administration, and higher education at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. An expert in the study and practice of philanthropy and nonprofit management, Dr. Tempel has more than two decades of experience in administration, teaching, fundraising, and international consulting. He previously served as vice chancellor of IUPUI and as vice president of the Indiana University Foundation. He has held numerous leadership positions with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, currently serving as chair of its Ethics Committee. Dr. Tempel served as the first elected president of the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council, a national organization of university centers dedicated to teaching, research, and service related to philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. He is a member of several nonprofit and for-profit boards of directors and is the past chair of the Indiana Commission on Community Service and Volunteerism. The NonProfit Times has regularly selected him as one of the 50 most influential leaders in the nonprofit sector.
