David L. Warren is a member of the Self-Regulation Advisory Group

David L. Warren has been president of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities since 1993. Before coming to NAICU, he was the president of Ohio Wesleyan University, an independent liberal arts college. He was a member of the founding board of Campus Compact, a national coalition of more than 950 college and university presidents dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement, and service-learning in higher education.  While at Ohio Wesleyan, he was appointed by the governor to chair the Ohio Ethics Commission for two years. Mr. Warren earned his B.A. in English from Washington State University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned master’s degrees in both divinity and urban studies from Yale, and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Michigan. He was also a Fulbright Scholar in India and a Rockefeller Fellow at Yale.
