Stephen H. Hoffman is president of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, which seeks to meet the various human needs of the Jewish community. Before becoming president, Mr. Hoffman was the organization's director of social planning and research and assistant director. From 2001 to 2004, he served as the president and CEO of the United Jewish Communities and is the founding director of the Council for Initiatives in Jewish Education. In 2003, he was the first recipient of the Fuchs Mizrachi School's Guardian of Zion Award in Cleveland, and in 2004, Mr. Hoffman was appointed by President Bush to serve on the United States delegation to the Conference on Anti-Semitism. Mr. Hoffman is a graduate of Dickinson College and received a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland and a master's in Jewish studies from the Baltimore Hebrew University.
