Boyd Black is an Associate General Counsel with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he has responsibility for domestic and tax matters.  Prior to accepting this position, he was a partner in the international law firm of Latham & Watkins, where his practice included regular representation of nonprofit and tax-exempt entities.  He is Co-Chair of the Religious Organizations Subcommittee of the Committee on Exempt Organizations of the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation, a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel, a member of the Board of Advisors of the National Center on Philanthropy and the Law at New York University Law School, and a frequent lecturer on topics related to tax-exempt organizations.  He served as editor-in-chief of the Brigham Young University Law Review.
