Sam Astrof is the senior vice president and CFO of United Jewish Communities, which represents 155 Jewish federations in North America. Prior to joining UJC, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer of the United Way of New York City, where his responsibilities included the financial functions of the September 11th Fund. He joined United Way after retiring as a partner with Ernst & Young LLP where he specialized in public companies registered with the Securities Exchange Commission and significant not-for-profit entities. A certified public accountant, Mr. Astrof has a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Baruch College of the City University of New York.
