Susan M. Menditto is the director of accounting policy with the National Association of Colleges and University Business Officers’Advocacy and Issues Analysis Department where she serves as staff liaison to NACUBO’s Accounting Principles Council. She performs a higher education advocacy role with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and the Department of Education. She also helps provides guidance to the education industry on how to adhere to the business practices addressed in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Prior to joining NACUBO, Ms. Menditto, a certified public accountant, was a vice president at Bank of America.  In 13 years with the bank, she had positions in accounting, financial reporting, compliance and organizational change management. Ms. Menditto began her career with a Big Five firm, and has been the CFO and controller of a not-for-profit organization.
