Carol G. Simonetti was appointed president and CEO of the Indiana Grantmakers Alliance in June 1999. She was previously the director of Community Foundation Services at the Council on Foundations in Washington, D.C. Other foundation experience includes executive director of the Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County (Ohio) and program officer at the Cleveland Foundation (Ohio). In addition to foundation work, Ms. Simonetti was vice president for development at the National Association of Economic Development in New York. She began her career in public welfare in Akron, Ohio where she started as a caseworker and ended as deputy director at the Summit County Welfare Department. Ms. Simonetti did her undergraduate work at the Ohio State University in psychology. She has a Master's degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University and a law degree from Cleveland Marshal College of Law.
