So you need to raise some money. Maybe you need to raise capital to start your own small business, or maybe you just need to raise some funds to help you get your debt down to a manageable level.
Maybe you really need to get your car serviced or maybe you just need a bit of help getting through the month every month. Luckily for you we have some great ideas on how to raise money with minimum start-up capital. Just read these five foolproof money making ideas and see which of them most appeals to you.
House Sitting and Pet Sitting (and babysitting)
If you’re a reputable character who’s good with children you can advertise your services as a babysitter. If you are less into looking after other people’s kids but don’t mind leaving home in the evenings, have good character references and are relatively responsible then consider house and pet sitting.
House sitting can be a treat in disguise if you still live with your parents (or extended family or roommates) and you enjoy the occasional break from them. You also have the added plus that often when you house sit people will leave food in their fridge for you while you stay in their home.
If they have pets that need feeding and walking you can charge more – and good pet lovers will be more than happy to pay you properly if they feel their animals are being left with someone who will love them like their own.
All you have to do is advertise in your local paper and on your community Social Media Channels. If you know someone who can give you a good reference ask their permission to give their contact details to potential clients.
The best part about house sitting and pet sitting is that it requires zero capital to get started and your own expenses are less while you stay in someone else’s house using their amenities.
Have a Social Media Sale
You have probably considered having a garage sale, but maybe you don’t have space for one. Or maybe you have a couple of things you could sell but not enough for a whole yard sale. Don’t fret, you can still sell your unwanted goodies.
Take a look around your home and find anything that you don’t use anymore – from clothing to Tupperware and everything in between. Give it a good clean and then use your phone to take a photo of it. Make sure you are wary of what’s behind your sale items in the picture. It’s a good idea to hang a sheet as a backdrop for your photos. A good photo makes all the difference.
Next you have to find your community Face Book page and join it. If there isn’t a second-hand sales page in your community you can create one yourself. It’s free and easy. Then invite everyone you know to join, and get them to invite everyone they know. All you have to do is post pictures of your for sale items with a price and a description. A well populated second hand sales page will sell your stuff really fast. The best part is you don’t have to sit around at a sale waiting for passersby. You just arrange a collection point and time with your buyers and watch your stuff disappear!.
How to set up a Facebook community page:
Recycling is not only a great way to make extra money, it’s also helping the environment. Find out where your local recycling station is. They will pay by weight for sorted recycling. Make it a mission to collect all your recyclable glass, tin and paper. It’s easier than you think. You can ask your friends and co-workers to help you collect too. Then you just have to sort it into categories (plastic, paper, tin and glass) and make sure that it’s clean. Deliver to your local recycling plant and get paid for trash!.
If you have a craft or hobby that you’re really good at you can use it to help you make money. Maybe you have a family recipe for Marmalade or a pattern for Christmas socks that you can sew. Or perhaps you are really good at knitting special teddy bears or even baking cupcakes. Whatever it that you’re good at there are probably lots of people out there who would love to enjoy your skills. You can advertise, take orders and sell your special goodies any time that you need to make an bit of cash to tide you over.
You don’t have to commit to doing this as your staple income – just use it to help you along. The chances are that if you took the time to get good at something it’s probably because you enjoy doing it – so making a bit of extra money this way could even be fun for you.
Once you make a bit of a name for yourself you will have people calling you up top ask for more. Again you can use Social Media sites like Facebook to sell your wares or you can advertise in your local paper or on your neighborhood notice board.
The important thing to remember is consistency. Your small side-line business is only as good as your reputation. The moment you let someone down it’s all over.
Free Lance Moonlighting
Do you have a professional skill that you can peddle through a freelance site? Use it! Even if you just have really great spelling and grammar skills you can sell your services as a proofreader. You would be amazed at how much you are actually capable of.
Virtual Assistants are very popular too. The great thing about being one is that you can find people in other time zones who need your help, which means that if all you have is a laptop and two hours every evening you can still sell that time.
There are plenty of great web sites to help you set up a profile and connect with clients. Take a look at UpWork and FreeLancer for professional jobs. If you have other saleable skills that aren’t fitting for a professional site then you should take a look at fiver . There are people doing everything from writing personalized love songs for your spouse to designing posters, taking photos of random things and pretty much anything you can imagine. Krispy Kreme Fundraiser is easy and highly profitable.
When you think about charity, it seems so difficult. Most of the times you don’t understand how you can help people. I was thinking in the same fashion till the time I came across Krispy Kreme Fundraising. It looked too sweet to be true but then it worked like magic. Yes, donuts are loved by everybody and if they can help us raise some funds why not go for them?
I felt that this was an outrageously awesome idea to just buy donuts and then raise funds by selling them. I took around 3 dozen donuts to my office and sold them for $1 each and it took less than 5 minutes to empty the packets. A friend of mine purchased around five herself. Okay she likes donuts but she was more eager when I told her that I had filled Krispy Kreme fundraiser form to get this batch. She enthusiastically called all her other office colleagues to buy the donuts. It works like magic in the truest sense. The best part of Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser is that you are not doing anything over the top. At other times, you face a challenge of convincing people of supporting your charity. It can become a tedious task. People are not always convinced about your intentions or sometimes they find it too expensive to donate.
However, in this case you face no challenges whatsoever as it is totally affordable and fulfilling too.
Krispy Kreme fundraising price is really low. Therefore, it is a win-win situation for both buyers and sellers of Krispy Kreme donuts. Okay, so donuts aren’t exactly the healthiest breakfast in the world, but they sure taste good! To be honest it is an effortless method of charity.
The way Krispy Kreme fund raising is planned you can easily participate. Other than selling donuts there are several other ways you can do the fund raising. One interesting way that I found was to sell additional food items along with doughnuts. You can easily contact a bagel shop or a nearby bakery and ask them to give you some food items at a discounted price. This will definitely become a big hit with you taste loving customers. Another good thing about Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser is that you can participate in their program even if you are not living in US or Canada. You just have to go their website and check if they have an outlet in your country. Krispy Kreme products are sold across the country including Walmart.
So, coming back to the topic, Krispy Kreme donations can be done in several ways. Take a look:
Sell Yummy Donuts.
You can just locate a Krispy Kreme shop in your town and tell them that you wish to participate in their fundraising program. They will tell you about cost and availability. Understand that you can raise funds for religious, educational, community or health causes. Even if you have a small group, you can still participate and sell Krispy Kreme donuts.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts fundraiser is really profitable as it offers a whopping profit of 50-60%. You can set your own price for donuts as per your customers.
You don’t have to do anything, just tell your friends, mates or neighbours about your stall. I can bet that within a few hours you will be left with a lot of funds and profit.
Valuable Krispy Kreme Value Cards.
These are extremely easy to sell. Your customers can decide when to buy donuts. Besides this, it will be really convenient for you if you have less time on your hands. It will be a profitable situation for both. My friend who was completely interested in Krispy Kreme donuts fundraiser decided to sell these value cards as she does not have much time on hand.
Krispy Kreme Gift Certificate.
This is also another fun way to raise funds with Krispy Kreme. You absolutely have to do nothing. You can purchase Krispy Kreme gift certificates for $4.99 each and sell them for $9.99 earning around 50-60% profit. The reason why they can sell like hot cakes is that your consumers can choose when to use them. You can buy a collection and sell it anywhere. Most likely at office, at your child’s school function or even in your neighborhood. Everybody loves donuts so it will be a no-work all profit way.
Selling Signature Coffee.
Coffee and Doughnuts are like a couple. Most of the time customers want both coffee and donuts together. So, you can select from Krispy Kreme’s three signature coffees. This is one of my favorite methods. A tip: Selling coffee with donuts in the morning at a stall works the best.
Krispy Kreme Donations Procedure.
It is the simplest part. You just have to fill form online or place the order at your nearby shop. Then you will be contacted by their representative within a time of 48 hours. After, you receive the products and you can start with the fundraising process.

We are taking a look at some exciting, fun and effective school fundraisers to help you make money for your child’s school. If you have children in your life you will definitely find yourself involved in fundraising for a school at some point in their lives. Instead of using the same old boring lemonade stand ideas, why not try something different to raise money for school? Here are 5 ideas for school fundraisers that don’t require raffle ticket sales.
An Auction evening (or afternoon) is a great idea if you want to host a school fundraising event. Host an evening in the school hall (or community hall if you are a small school) and invite parents and their friends and families to attend. You will need to ask parents to donate prizes to be auctioned off. They don’t have to be new items, just like the items at most auctions aren’t new. A great idea is to get the kids in each class to do a painting or drawing that can be auctioned off. These should be kept affordable as most parents will want to buy their own child’s work. Then the teaching assistants could even be convinced to donate one hour baby-sitting vouchers (in the case of young children) to be auctioned off. You will need to find a parent or teacher who is willing to be the auctioneer. You can sell beverages and food at your auction too, or make it a formal evening and sell tickets and provide cheese and wine.
This is a great way to bring in a small, constantflow of cash for your classroom. Talk to the school and parents about implementing a compulsory “bakers-man” once a week (Friday’s work well). This works particularly well in schools with fewer than 30 children per register class.
Each child has a turn once a year to provide “bakers-man” for the rest of the class. This could be anything from a cookie to a cupcake for each child. All the other children have to bring in a set amount each week, maybe a dollar or two, and “buy” their treat. The proceeds all go into the class fundraising jar. Because you are only asking each family to provide only 30 treats only once a year this is usually a well-received fundraiser.
Every kindergarten and pre-school I have ever sent my kids to has had a compulsory “bakers-man” on Fridays and no-one has ever complained. If a parent doesn’t want their child to take part they can always come and talk to the teacher about it.
Music Trivia evening
One of the best fun school fundraisers I have ever attended was a Music Trivia evening. Tickets were sold per table of six to eight people. The school organised a PA system and someone volunteered as Master of ceremonies. What you do is play snippets of well-known music but don’t allow the singing to start. Play ten songs per round. Each team has one answer sheet that they have to fill in with the name of the songs and artists. Teams should discuss the correct answers amongst themselves, but they have to be quick because they only have thirty seconds between songs.
Each round should have a theme like “classic films”, “Ladies of the eighties” or spilt them up however you want to. After each round tables swap answer sheets and mark each-others sheets. At the end of all the rounds the winning teams receive a cake as their prize to share out as they like. The cakes could be donated by parents too.
Those who attend the evening should bring their own picnic baskets and drinks to enjoy through the evening, or you could sell them dinner too.
Spring Day carnival
A winning fundraising idea is to have an annual carnival day. Make each class responsible for a different game, activity or sale. Great ideas are a pancake stand (older kids), a beverage stand, tombolas and games tables. Each class needs their own area to work from. If you have an indoor area you can even include a haunted house! Sell tickets for the different activities and games at a central ticket table.
For younger kids hiring a jumping castle is always a big hit. Make sure you have parents donating prizes for your games well in advance. You can also approach your local stores and stationers, most of them will be happy to make a donation of prizes.
If you usually do a raffle at your school every year then the carnival is a great place to have the lucky draw!
Candy and Tupperware sales
If you prefer a less eventful fundraiser then consider doing a sales drive. There are a lot of companies who are willing to sell their good through schools and other charities and give a portion of the profits to your school.
Typically you would have a sales drive for a week or two when kids will take home sales forms to sell to their neighbourhood. You can also advertise in your local papers and in your Social Media channels to let people know that you have a sales drive happening.
Good options to consider are:
Tupperware fundraisers: Tupperware has been around for a long time and it’s a good quality, well trusted product that everyone needs. Tupperware have a special range of products that are only available through fundraisers, making them even more tempting to your supporters. A good idea is to contact them and find out exactly how to set up your fundraiser through them.
So many people can’t resist something sweet! Why not use that sweet tooth to help you fundraise for your child’s school? There are a lot of chocolate and candy companies who offer fundraising sales to schools, including Hershies and World’s finest Chocolate. Contact them online and they will guide you through their fundraising process, their special fundraising products and anything else you need to know about raising money with candy.
Whatever your style, however big or small your child’s school is, there is a great fundraising opportunity waiting for you today. If you get stuck just ask yourself this question: What kind of event would you yourself like to attend? What do you like to spend money on? Those are the things you need to be doing for your fundraisers!.

Why Choose Fundraiser Candles?
Why choose Candles? One of the major factors that often puts people off supporting fundraising drives is the fact that so often the products on offer are of poor quality. Because NPO’s don’t usually have that much capital to lay down and need to turn a good profit, they often make the mistake of selling poor quality, cheap products. The result is that you make less money and you and your charity might get associated with a bad product. That means less support for you.
Luckily Yankee Candles will make your supporters happy – because they smell amazing, they’re beautiful and people will think about how relaxed and happy they make them every time they see your charity! Yankee Candles are also competitively priced, so your buyers will feel good knowing they are getting a good price. When you choose Yankee Candles your buyers know that they are buying a well-loved, high quality candle that’s a treat to the senses. Candles are timeless and classy, too. They come in so many different flavors and designs that there is bound to be something to suit everyone’s taste.
We also think Candle Fundraising is great if you want to avoid the delicate issues surrounding special diets, allergies and food debates. It can be a bit of a gamble selling edible products, but Yankee candle fundraisers can be supported by anyone.
Who can use Yankee candles?
Because they are available in so many different, true to life scents, and so many different colors, Yankee candles are very versatile. You can choose candles to relax you, set the mood for a romatic evening, or just make a room smell nice. Maybe you have someone who’s not feeling well at home and their room could use some soothing, fresh smells? Or perhaps you just want to unwind yourself. If you don’t know what someone would like you could always buy them a gift voucher and let them choose.
What this all means is that they can be used for fundraising regardless of your target market’s cultural background, race, gender or age group. So you can safely use Yankee candles to raise funds for any charity or NPO.
When can you fundraise with Yankee Candles?
Yankee candles offer two main selling seasons. Namely, the spring selling season (January to June) and the fall selling season (August to December). Each sale season has its own special range of candles to order. The recommended sales method is to open for sales for around two weeks before placing your bulk order. But don’t worry! Late orders will still be processed as long as you have a fundraiser open for the current selling season.
To make raising money even easier for you, Candle fundraising orders have no minimum quantity. So you can keep placing orders even if you only want one candle!

Yankee fundraising candles have a dedicated client service team who will help you to get your fundraising set up. They will even check other fundraisers in your area and try to help you not to clash with anyone. They will also coach you on how to use your Yankee candle fundraising order form until you know exactly what you’re doing.
Once your orders have been placed your dedicated client service provider at Yankee candles will ensure that you orders are individually packed up, clearly marked with the name of the purchaser, and shipped to you or your specified billing address.
Sell Yankee candles from Home
Another great thing about using Yankee Candles for your fundraiser is that you can fundraise from home! You can place orders online, make payments and organize shipping of the products that you order for your buyers, all from the comfort of your own home. All you need is the internet!.
The Process: How do you fundraise with Yankee Candles?
What we really like about this product as a fundraiser, aside from the quality and price, is the process. Yankee candles has made it so easy to use their services that even a first time fund raiser will be able to do it without any hassles.
All you have to do is visit the Yankee Candles Fundraising Website and register your Non-Profit organization. Then a dedicated client service representative will call you or get in touch via e-mail to help you set up your campaign. They provide you with a hashtag for buyers to use when they want to support you, and talk you through the whole process.
Then it’s up to you to let your community know about your project. Advertise in your local newspaper, on your Social Media channels and through anyone who may be able to help you. If you are fundraising for a school you can get the kids to take home information on the sale to their families. If it’s for a welfare or organization you can ask volunteers and involved members to help you get the word out.
Once people know about your project they can either fill in the sales forms you will be provided with or they can order directly online using your reference hashtag when they place their order to make sure your Non-profit organization get 40% of the sales profits.
Yankee candles smell so great. Every season they come out with new ranges, new aromas and new designs. So even if you have used them before there will be something new every sale season. It’s so easy and so profitable! Thanks Yankee Candles, We look forward to placing our orders with you!
You would have surely asked yourself, “What does a happy ending have to do with fundraising at all?” The answer is very simple, it’s a tale, however, it is not just any tale. It is your fundraising tale, with stories, with feelings, with dragons and castles where we all become kids again.
I have only written a couple of lines, yet, I have already revealed the ending of the story. In this way, I will probably not have much success as a writer, but the point is not the ending; instead, it’s about what you can achieve and how you can do so. I think I’ll save that part for later :).
This post has three clear objectives:
1. To obtain the maximum benefit for your fundraising cause.
2. For you to have fun while learning.
3. To create new fundraising ideas for kids.
All of the content that you find on this website is free, practical and simple. You will gain at least a 70% benefit for each sale and at no initial cost. You will only have to invest time and imagination for fundraising.
The endpoint of this guide is not only to learn how to raise funds, but also to teach virtues to kids as well as adults, so that nobody forgets that we were all kids, once upon a time. How do we plan to achieve this? The best way to do it is to create a book of short stories created by and for kids. The point of this is for kids to have fun and I assure you that they will because you and I will be in charge of that. While they have fun, they will learn about teamwork, their creativity will expand, reading will be encouraged and most importantly, they will be a little bit happier.
Achieving all of this has not been easy. We have had to evaluate many ideas to raise funds, consider different focus points and try different platforms for book publication as well as text-editing and photo-editing software. After having organized all of this information, I have started to write with the same enthusiasm of a little boy.
The trend of the editorial world is the digital book, this affirmation is based on different studies but one of the most important ones has been done by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), which shows that electronic book sales will exceed those of printed books before 2018 in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
Further on we will explain how to have the book printed as we have done all throughout life (paper copy), but the reference point will be an electronic book.
CREATE THE BOOK FOR FUNDRAISING
To create the future book you have 3 options:
1. Design and create yourself (Do It Yourself – DIY) the book with a book cover to later use files such as pdf, docx, txt, jpg, png and/or tiff.
2. You can use the tools or software of digital platforms.
3. You can hire professional services.
We tend to combine option 1 and 2 the most. Ideally, the short story book should be edited with a text editor (Microsoft Word or LibreOffice Writer) and images with GIMP so that we, as authors, have control of the work at all times. An alternative is to directly use software from big digital platforms which makes it easier to create books based on each platform’s publishing requirements; however, it will limit the format of the book and its compatibility between the different platforms. All different types of formats would have to be exported and imported through Calibre based upon the platform. We present you with all the options and you choose the one you like the most.
The target audience for the creation of the book, as well as the reading aspect, are young students, more specifically, elementary school kids. It is important to have one or several adults, great kids and small geniuses that coordinate the creation of the book (teachers, parents of the students, volunteers, schools and/or associations). With this group of people leading the project, everything will be very simple.
Just as great cuisine dishes have detailed ingredient lists, here are the ingredients (software) we need for the book.
Gimp : “is a free and open-source raster graphics editor used for image retouching and editing, free-form drawing, resizing, cropping, photo-montages, converting between different image formats, and more specialized tasks”.
Microsoft Word: “Commercial versions of Word are licensed as a standalone product or as a component of Microsoft Office.”
LibreOffice:“Is the most actively developed free and open source office suite, a project of The Document Foundation. It was forked from OpenOffice.org in 2010, which was an open-sourced version of the earlier StarOffice. The LibreOffice suite comprises programs for word processing, the creation and editing of spreadsheets, slideshows, diagrams and drawings, working with databases, and composing mathematical formulae. It is available in 110 languages”.
Calibre: “Is a free and open-source e-book computer software application suite which runs on multiple platforms, allows users to manage e-book collections as well as to create, edit, and read e-books. It supports a variety of formats (including the common Kindle MOBI and Nook EPUB formats), e-book syncing with a variety of e-book readers, and conversion (within DRM restrictions) from different e-book and non-e-book formats”.
Sigil:“Is open-source editing software for e-books in the EPUB format. Sigil is distributed for the Windows, OS X and Linux platforms under the GNU GPL license. Sigil supports both WYSIWYG and code-based editing of EPUB files, as well as the import of HTML and plain text files”.

The different parts of a book are not fixed; they can be adapted to the needs of the reader or according to the author’s judgement. They normally tend to have the following layout:
The cover. Is the main page in which the full title of the book, the full name of the author(s), the place and year of printing and the publishing house will appear. The back cover, as the name states, is the rear part of the book.
In the following websites you will be able to find free cover page templates which you can modify to your own liking: hloom, freepik, All free download.
Copyright Page. It is found behind the cover page and it is composed of authorship credits, translation credits, legal elements such as the copyright holder, the barcode and the ISBN (International Standard Book Number– a unique commercial book identifier). If you are interested in publishing the book in paper form, it is strongly recommended that you purchase an ISBN code; you can find agencies that sell it here. An ISBN code is not mandatory on digital platforms. Most people generate a similar code which is free but only valid in their own virtual e-book store.
Foreword. Written by the editor or a person with greater responsibility, not necessarily a person that is closely associated to the text, but one associated to the editing aspect of the book. In this way, this part could explain the purpose of the book or indicate the fact that funds will be collected for a specific cause.
Preface or Introduction. Written by a person that generally understands the subject matter of the book like an editor, a teacher or a specialist, which explains the motivations behind the book or the fundraising ideas.
General Index. List with each of the short story titles, indicating the starting and ending page. In that starting page, both the title of the short story as well as the name of the author will appear.
Prologue.Written by the author and discusses the contents of the book.
Body of the Work. The main text of the book.
Acknowledgement and Dedication.
There is more information about the structure and the design of books on Wikipedia.
You can also download templates for LibreOffice Writer or Microsoft Word which would probably be easier for you. It is mandatory, as well as common, to have the cover page (in formats jpg, png, or tiff) and the contents (in formats txt, doc, docx, odt, mobi, epub, or pdf) of the book, separately.
Stories with Vignettes or Illustrations Stimulate Reading. Kids that don’t like to write can draw about each of the stories of the book. Later, those same drawings can be used in the book; that’s called team work . If they draw on a tablet, it is perfect because the drawings are directly saved in a jpg or png format. If it is done on paper, then, the drawings will have to be scanned or photographed and made into a digital version through GIMP . I will leave this tutorial video here so that you can see that it is not a difficult process.

If no one volunteers to draw, that is not a problem because here I am showing you more than 40 websites with free images.

Software and platforms to edit or sell electronic books for fundraising.
The goal of this post is clear, to gather the greatest amount of money for your specific cause, which we will achieve with the best digital book platforms:
There are two featured applications on Amazon. One of them is Kindle App Reading which is used to read e-books or snippets of text. While using this reader, you will have access to other books for kids which could be useful inspiration for your future book.
Another application is Kindle Kids’ Book Creator, which as its name implies, is also useful for book creation. It is available for Microsoft Vista, 7 or later versions and for Mac OS X 10.9 or later versions. There are two versions; download the first one because it is the most complete one and uses 272MB of space. It would be very courageous of me to say that Amazon is the best book editing and publishing platform; there would have to be exhaustive studies done on it, as well as comparisons with all other platforms to make such statement. What I can state is that Amazon is one of the best book editing and publishing platform for its added value:
It is easy, free and fast; you don’t have to go through a great amount of paperwork. The book takes less than 48 hours to appear on the Amazon website.
The platform uses a good system, both intuitive and well-assisted until the publishing process is completed.
You have many available resources such as software, videos, tutorials and a wide online community or forums to discuss any doubts.
Amazon currently has a market share of electronic book sales close to 74%. The future electronic book is not only meant to be sold to family, friends or acquaintances. Make sure to keep the mindset that the more people you can reach through the internet, the easier it will be to raise funds.
Here you will find a tutorial on how to create a book with Kindle Kids’ Book Creator.

If the result is what you expected, the next step is to save the book or file in a mobi format. We now have the file ready to be published on the website. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to consult the Amazon help section. Apple’s virtual bookstore is called iBooks Store, it is available in 51 countries and it is considered the 2nd web portal in the United States, due to its sales. The size of the file is limited to 2 GB, with an EPUB 3 format. Apple keeps 30% of the revenue that the work generates. To publish books directly on the iBooks Store, it is mandatory to have a computer with OS x 10.10 or a later version. The Apple software that allows you to create and edit electronic books is called iBooks Author.

How to upload and publish your ibook using Apples iBook Author for fundraising
If you do not have a computer with OS X 10.10 or a later version, you will have to use a web aggregator or web partner so that you may continue the publishing process. You can find them on this search engine. There are many web aggregators but an outstanding one due to its free service is Smashwords; you can find a user guide on its website. One of the key factors in Smashwords’ favor is the distribution of books, since they can not only be published on iBooks, but also on Barnes & Nobles, Scribd Oyster, Kobo, Yuzu, Blio and Inktera, Baker & Taylor Axis 360, Gardners, etc. The electronic book must be registered in the Premium Catalog, meeting all the editing requirements of the editorial itself, in order to be able to publish it on multiple platforms.
Barnes & Noble
Nook Press is the Barnes & Noble self-publishing platform. It has an online, free tool for editing electronic books; this tool is a multi-user one in which two or more people can work on the same book. It also contains a very useful support centre.
Fill out basic information about the e-book: title, author, keywords, collaborators, categories, etc.
Have the front cover and back cover of the book in a JPG or PNG format.
Have the book contents in an DOC/DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM or EPUB format.
If you have any questions, you can watch the following video which shows the whole publishing process.
How to Self-Publish Your Ebook on Nook Using Nookpress for fundraising
After having explained how to self-publish electronic books, we are going to explain how royalties for fundraising work. The total number of sales will determine the benefit, and the royalties of each sale will depend on the final price of the book according to the following table:
“Royalty” percentages paid based on eBook retail price
$.01 – $2.98
$2.99 – $9.99

When creating a book, I recommend not making it too lengthy, 100 to 200 pages are enough, with simple, easy-to-read vocabulary and with pictures. Design a pretty book cover, with a unique title that is attractive, since this is a determining factor along with a well-structured and well-formatted content for clients to purchase the book.
Do not forget to promote your book on social networks like Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and/or Instagram; also promote it on digital media, both local as well as national ones. You now have the necessary tools to self-publish and commercialize an electronic book.
If you need more help regarding publishing in a digital or physical format, here is a list with more than 50 companies that specialize on self-publishing. In this way, you will have more available resources.
The best option or fundraising idea to create a physical book is through Print on Demand (POD) without intermediaries. The fundraising profit margins will be better with these tips and tricks:
There are many Print on Demand companies but an outstanding one due to its pricing and services is Blurb Inc. It contains a free, easy and intuitive editor called Bookwright. It is compatible with Windows (Vista, Windows 7 and 8) and Mac OSX (10.7, 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10). When editing and publishing with these, you will be given an ISBN number for free, which would normally cost $125. You get a simulator to calculate printing costs and another simulator to calculate delivery costs. Remember that the most common size for short stories is 8” x 10”. Ask for only one copy of book the first time you print it, just to confirm that you do like it. Later, order as many as you desire. It is easier to get rid of one poorly edited book than trying to get rid of 50 or more. Print on Demand was made so that we, ourselves, can re-sell our books to the people that surround us, with a minimum benefit of 200% or more.
Did you know that one of the factors that increase the cost of the book is color printing? I advise you to have drawings that have the silhouette or the outline in black and then rest in white without any other colors. In this way, printing will be more affordable and kids will be able to color the drawings to their own liking, enjoying the book a lot more!
That is end of the story, and like a good story, they published happily ever after.
